Vegetating
Giving the ksss agar another shot. I used some long grain brown rice for some agar plates and used the 250ml of rice to make a spawn jar. The rice was thoroughly washed, boiled for 17 min, and washed again after boil. Then laid in a towel to dry in a try and jarred. Boiled/steam pasteurized in a pot. Today I open air transferred 3 pieces of agar into the jar (stupid I know). Shook everything up and of course the agar got stuck to the sides and top again 🙄 laying on its side to start.

ig:@eaegifts Have you considered using brown rice flour w/vermiculite?
ZaddyXL As a spawn? Never heard of it, how’s it turn out?
ig:@eaegifts Works really well because the mycelium can spread faster when the rice is in the ground up form. It’s a pretty common tek but I forgot the name, if you google brown rice flour and vermiculite you’ll probably see pre prepared bags and info on diy

Boiled corn for an hour and change. Jarred and steam sanitized. The LC tubes were made from an agar to corn syrup solution transfer. Used about 5ml of this vigorous LC for the small jar. Hiding it in the dark on a regulated heat mat they sit around 75 degrees.

Vegetating
There was no action happening at all. Testing the LC tubes on agar. Took the same agar plate and stuck a chunk in, the shook vigorously. Hope it isn’t too late to use this corn and nothing is contaminated.
