Sour Stomper - Mephisto

September 2020

4 autos started in a mix of 1/2 coast of Maine stonington 1/2 coast of Maine organic soil. 3 in 10 gallon smart pots and 1 in a 7gal under filled pot (unexpected) I am a novice grower (only grew 1 plant ever) and decided to grow fully organic using coast of Maine soil. I am watering with big foot mychorize and coconut powder from build a soil. The goal of the grow is to let the soil supply food to the plant without the use of any bottle nutes. Trying to do a living soil approach. I have the top of my 10g pots dressed with kashi and there’s a healthy mycelium later. I popped 2 seeds initially but buried them too deep and watered them down further so I decided to pop 2 more expecting the first ones to not sprout. Well all of the seeds ended up coming up so I had to transplant one to the 7gal but is very small and stressed from the transplant so i decided to keep the other two in the same pot hoping the 10gal is big enough. We’ll see...

Note to self about grow so far: Very quick growing small plants but large during veg. Description from breeder seems very accurate. Took all training methods very well. Next time I will train more early on and throughout. Seems like a good scrog candidate. Little leaf to bud production meaning it looks easy to trim. Smells like sweet strawberry and notes of berry and classic dank skunk. Very impressed with the frost on this strain every bud is covered. Like their description also said leaves don’t have a ton of trichromes compared to bud but still plenty no complaints. Very accurate and truthful breeder no fake description. All plants are growing ~within a week of each other and they popped different times and conditions so very consistent strain. They all seem short and bushy rather than tall and lanky.

Both are growing slower than the other two but that’s okay take your time! They’re getting bigger colas everyday.

Day: 47

I super cropped this small one because it’s lanky and outgrowing the ideal light area.

Day: 27

Definitely flowering

Day: 27

Up close on the biggest one. Mephisto says sour stomper quadruples in height during flowering so I should see some vigor.

More LST and leaf tucking

Day: 26

Big leafs but small plant trying to lst it

Day: 26

The back one is pretty open while the bottom is much bushier

Day: 23

Took some better photos today. Did some significant leaf tucking on the big plant and added diatomaceous earth to all top soils to kill off any remaining gnats. So far so good but very messy and when it gets on a leaf can look like a problem so not a huge fan of it so far. Sand seems like a better solution. Oh well you learn as you go. I also overwatered as well so tomorrow will be my first time I can water since ~8 days ago. Gotta be more careful but plants are showing very little frustration although I don’t want to stunt them.

Day: 14

Biggest one. You can see both the light and temp/RH meters I use. The light meter which I never used before has been helpful to make sure I’m not blasting them with light and that all 4 plants are equally lit. (Leaf was droopy because the fan blowing)

Day: 14

Twins looking nice. I started to tie and bend the right one down to try to get it away from the pot.

Day: 14

Just lightly top dressed with neem seed oil by down to earth to prevent gnats which I spotted the other day. Also added a trap. Overall though all plants are doing well

Day: 12

7 gal

Day: 11

Smallest plant in the 7g looking small still but it was an unexpected bonus. Also I didn’t use grokashi on this one so just that could be keeping it smaller. This plant will be experimental. If there’s not enough room in the tent later it’ll have to be a houseplant.

Day: 11

In just days the growth on this plant is crazy. Bigger wider and stronger than the others. (Single 10g plant)

Slapuglypeople The day 1 picture is this plant here. So strong. Mephisto is one of the best! I watch the plants grow in a day.

Day: 11

Really starting to grow quick

Day: 8

The transplant super small but healthy. Came up about a week after since it was buried deep while the quickest came up in only a couple days.

Day: 8

The other two in the 10 gal also doing fine. The hay is actually just guinea pig Timothy hay I had to throw away. So far it’s working very well. You can see the mycelium a bit on the bottom.

Day: 8

This plant in its own 10 gal. Plenty of room to grow big. Doing well so far.
