First Grow ft. Green Crack

Spring 2021

Green Crack is my favorite strain and it’s hardly available near me. Then I realized I could also save a lot of money this way. This is the sole survivor from 3 seeds and a lot of human error. I didn’t track days early on, but it’s been struggling to get here for a month. I have an indoor tent from MarsHydro and use Fox Farm ocean soil. Bought a Giixer LED that has made a huge difference in getting this plant on the right track!

Day 135 (Week 20)

Day: 135

Final weight was just over 4 oz. Less than I hoped for, but more than enough to hold me over for a while! Just tried some that’s been curing close to 2 weeks and it smoked great. Gave me the focused energetic high that only green crack can. 👌🏾

Harvest Day! It’s been quite the journey, and I’m thankful for a healthy plant. I learned so much and can’t wait to start the next grow. I’ve still got a couple autos and a jar seed going, so I’ll stay busy for another couple months. As for this one, I did a very light trim, washed (don’t start. 😆) and hung to dry. I’ll finish the trim before curing. And I can’t wait to weigh it before it goes into jars! What’s your guess on final bud weight? I have no concept of this yet, so blindly hoping for 12+ ounces/340+ grams.

growthisgood It’s a travesty what this app does to pictures. I’m not even gonna fight it and hope y’all see these the right way. God bless. lol

alawishes86 Yea the pictures sucked lol, but we know it’s fire

growthisgood Ah! There’s the whole shot! Weird. Not sure why it cut it that way. Oh well.

Day: 120

Chopping tomorrow! I was away for just under a week and it zapped the leaves quickly with just watering. True flowering time: 10 weeks.

CaliUK Looking funky 👌🏻

growthisgood Just need it to stay funky one more day!

Day: 109

Yeah, so it’s still going. Lol. Once I realized how far she had to go, I decided to feed a couple more weeks instead of flushing. Glad I did. Cool to see some green restored to the plant. Last feed was this past Sunday. I’m hoping she’ll be ready after I get back from traveling next week. Ideally there will be 10-15% amber trichomes and the pistils will curl in. What do you think?

Day: 99

Week 9 of flower. Still a lot of clear trichomes. Might have started flushing a week too soon, but gonna ride it out. Took 30 minutes off the daily timer. Let’s see what happens this week. I’m ready for this to be done!

Day: 91

Week 8 of flower! Gave her the last supper, so it’ll be water only from here on out. Based on the trichomes and pistils, still at least a couple weeks to go. Maybe a little longer. Not sure what will accelerate since this is my first grow. Really proud to have gotten it this far!

Mystrain420-@eaegifts

Mystrain420-@eaegifts She looks great. The flower time given by breeders isn’t usually that accurate because of different grow conditions, it’s usually recommended to add 1-2 weeks to that time. It’s good to note that different growers count flower days differently, some start the count once they flip while other start at first sign of flowers. As far as speeding things up it’s good to cut back to 11 on 13 off last few weeks to help them finish. Hope this helps, happy growing 👍🏾

growthisgood Good looks on the info. Especially the 11/13. I’m gonna give that a go now and see what happens. I start counting flower from when I flipped. The preflowers were pretty well-defined. Can’t wait for these trichomes to go cloudy!

Mystrain420-@eaegifts

Mystrain420-@eaegifts No problem, I stick with the same count also. Enjoy your harvest 👍🏾

Week 7 starts today! New issues right on schedule. The buds themselves are coming along nicely, but some leaves started turning yellow since Friday. I left that day and came back surprised. Also noticed rust spots on a few 🍃 . Only things I did differently last week were move plant three inches closer to the LED light, water 2 times in a row where there may have normally been a feeding, and added the Cha Ching booster from Fox Farm. But I was super conservative in how much I used. I did notice a week ago after watering that the soil ppm was pretty low according to the runoff. So this is likely a Cal/Mag deficiency possibly related to lockout since the soil ph has been on the lower end. I realized all this after I fed today, so I gave a bit of tap water (ph was 7.2 when I tested) to try and balance out. Don’t wanna flush the soil given the consecutive waterings last week. Gonna keep an eye on the 🍃 and any new rust spots. I feel like I’ve got it under control either way and fortunately I’m done traveling for a little while. This is the first issue I’ve had in weeks, so I was due for something. 😂🤞🏾

Week 6 of flower starts today! Fed this morning with Tiger Bloom, Big Bloom, Fulvic Acid, Bembe, CalMag. My guess is she’s gonna go the full 8 weeks. The hairs are darkening a bit more, and the trichomes are still pretty clear. I moved the light 3 inches closer, and will move more once I see how the 🪴 handles. I’m so ready to get to harvest. I’ve been growing this damn thing since April. 😂

Day: 70

Came back after a week away and she’s in beautiful shape. This is the start of week 5 of flower! She’s getting thirstier and the buds are really coming in now. Trichomes on full display. Can’t believe she rebounded like this from some serious early mistakes. I turned up the light intensity today and will see if she’s thirsty tomorrow. 🪴💪🏾

Day: 60

+3

End of flowering week 3. She’s going strong still! Buds starting to take shape and noticed the first hint of trichomes on what will be sugar leaves. Also made the mistake of trying to install vent tubing with the plant in the tent. Dropped the tubing and it smashed one of the buds. 😣 I don’t know why it took me this long to realize I can take the plant out, do what I need to do, then put it back in the tent. Lesson learned.

Day: 58

+1

I saw condensation on a couple leaves lying on top of each other and did a final prune. Not the first time I’ve seen, so doing this now and risking a slow down vs risking bud rot, mold and whatever else. Also moved the fan up to see if that helps with circulation. No feeding or water today. This humidity is turning out to be the biggest challenge!

Day: 57

Week 3 of flower! Water consumption up to every other day. I think the nutrients are dialed in. Fed yesterday and added Kelp Me Kelp You to the mix. Traveling again soon so hopeful I can keep this going. Last watcher did an excellent job! Now I just have to get the humidity down. Bought a dehumidifier for outside the tent. Hoping that helps.

Day: 53

Fed big bloom, grow big, tiger bloom, cal mag and fulvic acid. Gave half a gallon of purified water to start, then came back and gave a gallon with the nutes. Will likely give just water next time. The stretch is really starting to kick in, too!

Day: 51

+1

Wow! I left for 5 days and came back to an explosion of growth! And I’m still early in flower, so it’s not done. Also reversed the deficiency issue with proper feedings and watering. I’ll be traveling again soon, but excited to have a couple weeks to witness the progress. Lastly, I might be done with any LST unless absolutely necessary. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to leave her alone. 😂 This is my first grow so I’ll get fancy on the next one.

Day: 44

Looking better after a proper feeding yesterday. Also learned the soil is leaning into alkaline, so going to give a bit of water with ph down today before I travel. Need to premake a couple feedings for house sitters. Want them to have to do as little as possible. I also did some more LST with these sprouting branches. On top of that, I accidentally broke an annoying fan leaf that was in the way. Probably for the better since the 🪴 hasn’t responded negatively. Hoping for the best!

Day: 43

Last thing I did was water with a small amount of big bloom and fulvic acid before flipping to flower a couple days ago. This pretty much happened in the past 2 days. I’ve been light on the nutrients since earlier burn and this plant has been in this soil fox farm ocean) a couple months with a couple flushes in the past couple weeks. I’m thinking iron or magnesium or one of those. Also time to start giving Tiger Bloom. Trying not to do too much and mess it up. Traveling for a few days soon so a little pressed to troubleshoot safely. Thoughts or suggestions appreciated!

Godsproblem

Godsproblem It may be a phosphorus deficiency. You may have flushed too much. Fox Farm Ocean Forest come pre-amended for upto 30 days. I use that soil and give my plant(s) nutrients according to my nutrients regimen, but I give less than what is posted. Since you already flushed. Give it its nutrients next and work from there.

Godsproblem

Godsproblem Add cal/mag to that feed too. 👉🏽

growthisgood This makes sense given the timing. Cal mag arrives tomorrow, so will hopefully be able to feed with nutrients. Thanks.

Day: 41

Finally flipping to 12/12 today. Started this seed in mid April and made a lot of mistakes, but she has continued to bounce back. Gave her a couple teaspoons of big bloom and teaspoon of fulvic acid with just over a gallon of water. Think I’m done with the grow big (fox farm) unless there’s an indicator there isn’t enough. Also pruned leaves blocking flower sites and switched up the LST to these orange clips from the annoying stakes and strings. The branches are pretty strong so was hard to bend much. Nearly snapped one and backed off. Moved plant to the ground from up on a little stand for air flow underneath. Need the extra few inches of vertical space for the stretch. Traveling soon, so starting this a few days earlier than planned so I can watch them over the first few days.

Day: 37

Better late than never on the LST. Accidentally broke one branch, but was already thinking about doing away with it since it was blocking potential bud sites. Hoping to keep in veg at least another week. Will have to see what that growth do. It’s happening fast! Looks like I’ll have to start watering more frequently, too. And yeah, I’m gonna buy some of those bending clips. I don’t like all the string, though it is very safe.

Just topped for the first time. I know it’s what you’re supposed to do, but seeing that fluid/sap (hormone?) pool where I cut got me nervous. Will keep a close eye on her the next few days.

Caliban She is reaching for the sky! 👍

Day: 20

Installed an Electric Sky grow light. Wayyyyyy better than the cheap one I was using from Amazon. Also gave the plant its first real watering with a nice neem oil and Castile soap drench. Might have gone too far adding nutes, but I was in a mood. Fingers 🤞🏾 I see a positive response over the next few days.

Day: 13

Being really careful with the water. Been 5 days and soil was pretty dry a knuckle down. Will start watering more along the outside as the plant grows and drinks faster. Also added a little bit of Fox Farm Grow Big and started using distilled water. The ph in the tap was way too high. Let’s see what happens. (The day numbering is off because of when I started on the app. This is really like Day 43, but I’m not trying to keep doing that math.)

Day: 11

+2

Some progress since last time. Confirmed the dusty look isn’t mold and instead diatomaceous earth under a coating of neem oil. I was going really hard against the fungus gnats. 😂 I also learned I shouldn’t have repotted into the final pot. Soil takes longer to dry and that creates an oxygen issue. Course correction as I go. Started another seed to see if it’ll catch and surpass this one since I’ve learned a few things.

Day: 1

Super slow grow because of human error. This is my first attempt and I’m going with Green Crack since it’s my favorite. I’ve been waging war against fungus gnats, hence the diatomaceous earth causing that dusty look. Repotted today and will hopefully destroy the rest of the gnats over the coming couple weeks. Her growth has picked up a lot in the last 7-10 days. Can’t wait to start feeding it the Fox Farm nutrients and pick up on the growth!
