Tropimango
Philosopher Seeds
Tropimango Project: Scored two free seeds from Philosophers Seeds with my recent order, so I decided to give them a shot. I'm looking forward to seeing how they develop and, more importantly, hoping to harvest some buds that live up to the strain's tropical mango flavor profile. Should be an interesting grow.

Day: 53
Vegetating

Tropimango Update - Day 53 (6/04/2025) My Tropimango plants are adapting well to the Low-Stress Training (LST) regimen, but it's clear they're outgrowing their current space. To support their continued development, I'll be transplanting them into larger pots next week. This will give me the opportunity to further shape their architecture and promote a more even, expansive growth pattern. By carefully manipulating the plant structure and allowing for strategic vertical growth, I aim to create a robust and productive canopy. Topping will follow, encouraging the plants to focus their energy on developing multiple bud sites. The current nutrient program featuring Silica Blast, Cal-Mag, and Pure Blend Pro Grow is fueling healthy growth. Meanwhile, a preventative application of neem oil and potassic soap is in place to mitigate the risk of whitefly infestations during the vegetative phase.

Day: 44
Vegetating

Tropimango Update - 5/27/2025 - Day 44: Both Tropimango plants have successfully recovered and are now thriving, with Plant #1 and #2 exhibiting robust growth. The current nutrient regimen, which includes Cal-Mag and silica supplements, appears to be effective in supporting their development. Improved consistency in watering has also likely contributed to their progress. With the plants on a positive trajectory, I plan to initiate Low-Stress Training (LST) next week to promote a uniform canopy and optimize spatial efficiency. The plants will continue to grow until mid-to-late June, at which point they will be transplanted into their permanent 7-gallon containers. Following transplant, I will continue LST techniques until the main stem reaches the pot's edge, after which I will top the plant to stimulate lateral branching and expansion. Based on past experience, topping has proven effective in enhancing the development of middle stems and branches. Additionally, next week I will implement a water-only dunking technique to support root health and begin spraying the plants with a neem oil and potassium soap mixture in the afternoon to provide preventative pest control.

Day: 38
Vegetating

Tropimango Update - 5/21/25 - Day 38: Both Tropimangos have successfully recovered from a minor drought stress event caused by inconsistent watering, and are now exhibiting healthy growth and development. A preventative application of powdered diatomaceous earth was applied to mitigate potential pest pressure. The plants are currently receiving a balanced fertilizer regimen, including cal-mag and silica supplements, which is supporting their nutritional needs. While the plants are progressing well, continued monitoring and precise care will be crucial to ensure optimal growth and maximize yield potential throughout the remainder of the cultivation cycle.

Day: 29
Vegetating

Tropimango Update - 5/12/25, Day 29: Encountered a slight growth setback due to inconsistent watering, which resulted in medium dry-out. To address this, I transplanted both plants into 1-gallon fabric pots to provide a more optimal environment for root growth. Currently, I'm focusing on consistent watering and nutrient feeding to help the plants recover and get back on track. Monitoring and adjustments will be key to ensuring they regain healthy growth and development.

Day: 18
Vegetating

Tropimango Update - 5/1/25, Day 18: Plants are looking good, and I've started feeding them a balanced nutrient regimen this week. Progress is on track, with healthy growth and development. Next step will be transplanting them into larger pots to support continued root growth and optimize plant potential, scheduled for next week.

Day: 8
Vegetating

Tropimango Update - 4/21/25, Day 8: Plants are looking healthy and developing well. Currently, I'm watering with solarized water (24-48 hours) and a dash of hydrogen peroxide. I've also introduced a light dose of Cal-Mag to support nutrient uptake and overall plant health. Next step will be transitioning to a regular nutrient feeding schedule, which I'll initiate next week to promote continued growth and development.

Day: 4
Vegetating

Tropimango Germination Log - 4/17/25, Day 4: Initiated germination on 4/8 by soaking the seeds in a water and hydrogen peroxide solution for 18 hours, followed by placement in a moist environment with a soaked cotton swab. Taproots emerged, and the seeds were transferred to soil on 4/10. The seedlings successfully broke through the medium on 4/13. Currently, I'm providing plain tap water that's been solarized for 24-48 hours with a small dose of peroxide, with no nutrients added yet – just focusing on establishing a strong root system.
