I have started flushing the big girl over the last few days, starting on Tuesday 6/15/21. This started exactly 70 days or 10 weeks in to the grow. She looks pretty ready, and has several leaves that are yellowing already. I will monitor over the next few days to ensure that she doesn’t over yellow, but I generally plan to harvest next weekend, so a flush period of 10 days. The smaller girl is still quite small. She has done basically no vertical stretching, and she started to flower about a week and a half or so ago. It’s really strange actually in comparison to her sister… as I’ve said before in my posts, the smaller girl started in the greenhouse, fell during a wind storm and required a rather urgent transplant to another pot. She seemed to recover quite well, but for some reason never grew much after. Fast forward, and she is the same age as her sister, but seems to be several weeks behind in terms of development, especially in the buds. I’m guessing that I will end up with a little bit of flower from this girl, but they will probably be small. I’ll be really interested to see what happens the next few weeks.

Well into flowering for both remaining girls. The smaller of the two hasn’t really stretched at all, but she does have several very nice looking colas that should produce some good nugs. The larger of the two has done tremendously throughout the process, looking the best in class at each stage. Now into late flowering, I can see lots of leaves turning yellow while forfeiting nutrients to grow larger buds. The only disappointment that I’ve had from this experience is minor… they didn’t turn as purple as I wanted… boohoo, I still have very purple stalks and the fingers in several sugar leaves are deep purple; and they are absolutely loaded with a dusting sugary looking trichomes everywhere all over the leaves. Beautiful plant in the end, and I’d wager pretty good buds when all is said and done. We shall see, I will begin to flush the big girl next week, and plan to harvest in 2 weeks.

seadub1979 Oh and note for the records, I also introduced CO2 during this grow… you’ll see a grey canister behind the big girl, which seems to be yeast and some other things that, when water is added to, ferments and produces a good deal of CO2. I can definitely notice a difference in the last week since adding.

Day 2 of the 9th week, and things are really coming along. I started with 3 seeds, all three were soaked in water for 24 hours and then planted directly in the medium (soil), and all three germinated just fine, but the differences in the genetics are pretty profound even with the same seeds. #1 is no longer with us… she was so small that several weeks ago, I tossed her… She had started to flower snd was maybe 7 inches tall in total, so worried about hermaphrodization (it’s a word), I put her out of her misery; #2 is the smaller of the two pictured above, and while she is much smaller than her sister, she’s still looking very nice with lots of pretty trichomes and pistils/stigmas, and she does have some purple coloring; #3 aka Big Sis has looked amazing since germination, and continues that now with several large colas beginning to form some incredible smelling buds that are stacking up and up. She’s going to yield some decent buds for certain, and while they are not purple, which is a big bummer, but they are honestly gorgeous buds all the same, lime green, covered in yellow/clear/white hairs and smelling sweat and dank at the same time. Excited for the first taste!

Entering week 7, and the girls look pretty nice. Both have flowered (the two I kept anyway) and though one is still much smaller than the other, she seems like she’ll still put off some decent nugs. The stalks are incredibly purple, and the flower pistils are yellow looking and starting to stack a bit. It really is amazing to see how different the genetics can be between two seeds. I’ve primarily (only) grown from clone prior to this grow, and a handful of others that I have going right now, so my impression has been that the same strain generally performs the same, but that’s not true clearly from what I’m seeing. I’ve got a great nutrient combo going right now with things from micro to macro nutes, root zone enhancers, etc… and I’m seeing some real payoff across all of my plants.

The difference between these two sisters is quite amazing. Granted, the smaller of the two did fall and need to be repotted, but it seemed to have recovered quite well. What worries me now is that the bigger one has been flowering for a week or so now, and the smaller one doesn’t seem to be really that close. She is still growing, and looks healthy, but they were planted the same day, and insofar as I understand, they should be on exactly the same life cycle. So I worry that she’s too far behind and may get stressed to a bad point. In any event, they do both still look nice, and big sister is already turning purple and yellow. I’d love some insight from others that have gone through this with autos. Edit: posted 2 additional photos of the third sister in this group. It’s so much small than the other two that I decided she had to live outside!

rokred So I’m on my first auto grow. My CDLC strain is said to take 55-76 days. I had one of my girls take an entire 8 days to start showing sex after the last sister did. At this point the late bloomer is the biggest in my tent. I wouldn’t get too worried, give it another week or so and then post back if you don’t see signs of sex. Some autos lose their ruderalis influence and may need to be put on 12/12 to flower. Dark devil is very stable however, and I believe she is just taking her time.

rokred The repotting most likely stunted your growth by a week or so 👌🏻👌🏻

Flowering has begun for at least one of the girls. After starting with 3, I made the mistake of transferring one… apparently autos don’t fair so well through that part. That plant has grown a bit, but it is much smaller than both sisters and I decided not to waste anymore time/money on it, so I put it outside. Still growing, barely. Second girl was out in the greenhouse for the beginning, I’ve been trying to experiment and get a sense for how differently things grow and react. Well unfortunately the wind got really strong, and she was on a stand and got knocked over. She initially recovered well, but about a week ago, I decided to top it as I did her sister the week before. Now it doesn’t seem to be growing up, it is growing but very small in comparison to her sister. Finally, DD1 is doing amazing. She’s already started putting off the beginnings of flowers, and you can already see the purple and yellow coming out. I wish these had ended up being more comparable. But hell if I get good buds, I won’t complain!

DD1 has started flowering, and looks just amazing. The stretch is starting, looks like she’s loving the nutes, feeling great on her. Interestingly, DD2 is pretty far behind still. She did start outside and fell, and has recovered well, but these plants are the same age, and I’m worried that she hasn’t grown nearly enough. I don’t think I’m at risk of having it go herm, but I’d love some advice!

DD 1 is going gangbusters still. Number 2 is doing well… topped #2 today, which I suppose is a bit late, but she seems very far behind developmentally than 1.

DD #1 is doing insanely well. We are in week 4 or 5, I topped in week 3 and she’s looking like a champ. DD #2 completely failed. She popped, but stayed very small, so I’m moving her out. #3 fell while out in the greenhouse, so I repotted and brought inside. They’ve been 24/7 while inside and they both look really good.

One fell down in the greenhouse and broke some branches. I brought it inside. One of them is still so small and I’m not sure if it will even grow. But the big one looks amazing! Topped it yesterday and it looks great!

I’ve got several of the seeds to grow, one is going gangbusters, and another looks like the runt of the litter, but overall looking nice. I did somehow have a second seed of a different strain that made its way into one of the DD pots. I think I’ve successfully transferred the other seedling to a different pot while leaving this little girl alone. Will check back with progress...

Day: 18

So... not sure how I’ve ended up with two seeds germinating in the same pot... I swear I thought I only put one in... anyhow, one of them looks especially nice!
