Day: 160

+1

Samples some of my Banana Hammock which is roughly 25 days post harvest. 11 days drying and the rest of the time curing. Brough out some buds to a party and sampled some on my own. I have to say this is the best I’ve grown. Very fruity and has the Grape element to it. High THC with some body effects and some cerebral. I’m guessing this is +20% THC based on the high. The butter and the canna oil came out great too with the sugar leaves and popcorn buds. Very happy with the smoke too. Burns gray and tastes sweet in the classical organic way.

Manicured the buds after 11 days of drying Had to stop after 11oz since I ran out of jars. More trimming in the morning. I’m thinking I’ll get another 6-7 in what I have left.

Day: 131

Harvest Day! 5 plants. About 4 hours total. Did a full bud wash too. Good news. No sight of any mites! Green cleaner and neem oil worked well. Also no more bud rot seen. 4/5 plants had very fat dense buds but the last was somewhat airier. 1 too many plants in the 4/4. I am roughly estimating about 4-5oz per plant dry weight. Hung to dry in the tent with a light fan going until completely dry from the washing. Then dry for maybe 10-14 days depending on progress. The smell is amazing and the banana hammock strain is resilient and makes great buds. Lots of pics to share around.

Day: 120

Watered with 6.4ph. Riding out the last 10 days or so. Trichomes are 50% cloudy. The rest clear still so have some more time. The buds are dense though! Sticky and smelling like diesel and grapes. The soil is still active and the mites are under control. Fingers crossed.

Came back from California after a week with son sorta taking care of plants. Basically he watered. Mostly all ok. But he left standing water on tent floor and with higher RH one of my fat buds developed botrytis. You can see in my pics where I excised it and checked for spread. Fortunately only one fat cola affected. The spider mites are under control. No webbing found but some affected leaves remain. With maybe 1-2 weeks before harvest I’m not too concerned. I don’t have great closeups yet but visually most of the trichomes are getting cloudy. Did a lot of defoliation of dead and yellowing leaves. Top dressed one last time with some fish bones and worm castings and fish shit. Last feeding. From here on just plain water.

Day 3 post spider mite discover and treatments. Took girls out of tent and washed them down well underside leaves. Trying to knock down population. Then sprayed with spinisoid spray. Girls were damp so air dried them outside (cloudy day) then moved them into tent under fans at high. Buds are heavy and need more support but I just don’t have time for much before I leave. Maybe I’ll string up the colas a bit. Here are posts washing pics.

Day: 109

Last pictures before i secure the tent. Some leaf burn from the anti mite sprays but I’m good with that. Otherwise let’s see how the plays do. Off to San Francisco and Napa for holiday.

Dreaded spider mites! Starting green cleaner treatment. Ugh

Day: 105

3 days until I leave for vacation. Watered heavily last night. The N deficiency seen 2 weeks ago well corrected after 2 weeks of top dressing w worm castings and the usual bloom mix of fish bones and other goodies. N-0-P5-k7. Now 2-3 weeks to go. Hopefully my son will water them and not fuck it up while I’m gone. 😂

Some sunshine for the ladies. Fattening nicely. Looks like the N deficiency is over. Just some natural fade on older leaves or smaller ones with no sun.

More outdoor time for the sun and the breeze. Perfect day in CT. Also had to setup an emergency hoop trellis for one plant. She was bending over pretty far with weight of developing buds. You can see it in a picture. Watered w 6.8ph. Week 5. In 9 days heading to SF for vacation so they will be cared for by 22yo son. Fingers crossed.

Caliban Sorry for the duplicates! The app double loaded.

Caliban

Caliban Of note some bottom leaves dying off. Likely N depletion. Did a major top dressing yesterday heavy with P-K and enough N to keep the leaves happy. 4-5 more weeks to harvest. First time girls are In direct sunlight! Hoping they don’t pick up any bug travelers when I move back into tent.

Caliban

Caliban Added some pics in full sun to see leaf color. Comments and critiques always appreciated!

Day: 80

Almost 12 days into flower. Largest girls 36-38” above soil. Lots of bud sites. LED are total 400 watts output full spectrum. Starting to get that slightly skunk smell.

lettuce97 holy shit, beast mode over here. 🍬🌸

Caliban

Caliban They went into major growth mode after a 2 week block of organic compost tea and top dressing with high P-K. They just stretched into their pots and then went for the sun. That was after major LST. I really should only have 4 in this 4x4 but I’m greedy

Ok I can say pretty certainly that the nematodes crushed the gnats in their larvae cycle. The girls are one week into flower. Other than a few wilting leaves underneath they are lush and thriving. Some minor windburn from the small tower fan I added, which I promptly reduced in speed. Temp is a nice 75 and RH is 55! The bud sites are forming and the pistols are starting to stretch nicely. Last watering they got top dressed w Worm Castings and Roots Organic Bloom mix. And Epsom salt every other watering. Frequency is every third day. About 1/2g/ plant. Sometimes more if the base is dry. I’m in 10G.

Girls doing well. Co2 keeping the heat and RH at bay. 80f and 73rh. Gnats seem to be declining and assuming nematodes are working with other things such as tape and neem oil. About 1 week into flower. Banana Hammock Ethos seeds are amazing.

Caliban

Caliban Oh also since flipping they grew about 6” give it take. The compost tea last weekend really charged them up

Herban

Herban They’re so green and beautiful

Caliban

Caliban I credit the good soil and compost i layered at the bottom. And a 10G cloth pot. Organic nutrients once a week at best. They are thriving.

Day: 73

So I’m New England we are in a heat wave and high RH which is tough for me as I’m in an unheated and unfinished cellar. Worries about mold so I have the fans rocking and CO2 running. 🤞. 80f and 83RH.

Day: 66

Big watering day. Each girl drank almost a gallon. Added some molasses and fish shit and also some nematodes to fight the gnat problem. I’m flipping to 12-12 this weekend.

Mystrain420-@eaegifts

Mystrain420-@eaegifts A bowl of apple cider vinegar with a few drops of dish soap in the tent and the gnats will drown themselves in it. Them come around when overwatering, if you let the plants dry a bit the gnats won’t be attracted to them and they’ll drown themselves in the vinegar quicker 👍🏾

Caliban

Caliban Fair to excellent advice friend! I’ve got the yellow traps all over. I do let it dry out for 2 days but the persistence is why I went nematodes. I like the trap idea! Can you see my homemade CO2 regulator at the left which is my beer airlock. The fan above moves the gas to the canopy when the tent is sealed.

Mystrain420-@eaegifts

Mystrain420-@eaegifts Great idea on the Co2 I made a sugar & yeast bucket. It’s really no way to regulate it but the pump only agitates it’s during lights on so it’ll put out, then it’s linked around the tent with air hoses. It’s always a great idea to increase Nematodes population, very smart!

Girls showing their pre flowers all over. Explosive growth in last week as the plants spread into their 10G organic soil. Made a tragic but recoverable mistake with one plant. Had her in LST with tie downs then rotated the plant too hard on her pot caddie and one branch snapped. So I used my suturing training and threw a pulley stitch using ties and pulled the mostly snapped branch back into the socket. Secured her well. 2 days later she seems to be doing well. The other girls are thriving! Using roots organic Nutes. Top dressed last week with worm castings and bone meal. Getting ready to flip very soon for an 8 week flower. This Banana Hammock strain is a beast!

Went away to Newport Folk Music fest for three days and the girls grew like mad. Boat crossing to Ft Adam’s. Did some trimming. Reset some tie downs for LST and mounted new AC infinity inline fan. Now let’s see how well it does!

Day: 51

Big day. Top dresses with roots organic bloom mix and worm castings. That should break down just in time for flowering. Also Watered thoroughly with molasses and pH to 6.8. Then did an LST adjust all around and removed a lot of lower stuff and a few leaves that were crowding the space. They should breath better as a result. High Rh is a problem. 75+ w a dehumidifier running in the cellar. Debating putting it right into tent but the heat output is too much. Getting my new online fan on Friday! Otherwise the girls look great. I super cropped a single plant, my runt as a test against just LST. All plants were topped 3 weeks ago and I only top once. So pls share comments and critiques. I’m smoking a bowl from my last grow. 💨💨😮‍💨😃

2 days post transplant. CO2 running. I’ll defoliate a few lower leaves that are showing N deficiency. Might do some LST too. 5 big girls in a 4x4. Might have to move one outside to make room. I also bought these nice plant pot caddies which makes it easier to move those 10g pots around. CO2 setup uses an airlock from my beer brewing setup to let me know how much gas is being used. I have the outlet below the fan so it moves the heavier gas around. Turned off vent fan to keep gas in tent. I’ll do this for a few hours the. Shut the Co2 and let the tent vent.

Day: 40

Transplanted to 10g cloth pots. Bottom layer of soil is coast of Maine composite. Top 2/3 is FF OF with some amendments. Light watering and out the girls back in their tent. Picture 3/5 showing early N deficiency in a plant.

Caliban Put the girls.

Caliban Turned on the CO2 to help the ladies acclimate. Warm at 80f in the temp w .70rh. I should have transplanted earlier but got busy and it was clear the N was depleted.

Day: 35

Added CO2 and switched on the bigger COB LED. Watered yesterday w fish shit. Epsom Mg. And Oreganism from Roots organic. Tonight will prep the 10g cloth pots w FF OF amended for transplant later this week. Hoping no more gnats w FF soil! Also a small bud from my last grow. Cures about 30 days and smoking like a charm. Thor and Odin my Norse god pets supervise. Appreciate thoughts comments and advice! Mostly last 2-3 weeks the OF soil been feeding the girls without too much interference.

Caliban Transplanting this week. 10G next

Day: 31

The girls are doing well. This Banana Hammock cultivar from Ethos is amazing genetics. They are 2 weeks in a 1 gallon and roots already peeking out of bottom. Going to transplant to final 10 gallon w FF OF + coast of Maine lobster compost as a bottom super soil layer. Feeding the girls every 3rd day w water and fish shit and very light kelp extract. Otherwise the soil is great. One bad thing is FF came w gnats! I’m letting soil dry but they came w the bag so keeping them under control. Topped all the girls today too. Rh is high around 70-75 so I have the dehumidifier going to keep it steady. Girls are thriving.

Caliban

Caliban Good advice! Have yellow tape all over and neem oil. So far under control. Need the high RH to end to let soil dry out. The roots really filled the pot quickly.

Some photos out of order from germination through early seedling. Girls are almost ready for up potting to 1g FF OF soil. One plant leaves are slightly mottled from the beginning which might be genetics but otherwise they are doing great. Only light liquid kelp (low N and chealated) and a touch of Epsom salt to pH water 6.5-6.8. They are in Happy Frog now and seem to love it. Taking the UCONN horticulture of cannabis class and it has helped a lot with my grow planning etc.
