Bubba Kush
Barney’s Farm
Bubba Kush Cultivation Log: Initiated cultivation with 2 seeds, both of which successfully germinated. I've reserved a third seed for potential use as a mother plant for cloning or for future seasons, pending evaluation of the current crop's performance. I'm looking forward to achieving optimal results and documenting the process in this journal to refine my techniques.

Day: 53
Vegetating

Bubba Kush Update - Day 53 (6/04/2025) As I implement Low-Stress Training (LST) on my Bubba Kush plants, it's evident that they'll soon outgrow their current containers. To accommodate their expanding root systems and facilitate further LST, I'll be transplanting them into larger pots next week. This move will enable me to optimize their growth patterns and promote a uniform canopy. Post-transplant, my strategy involves continued manipulation of the plant structure to encourage horizontal growth, followed by a brief period of vertical growth before topping. This technique should enhance the plant's ability to support multiple bud sites and maximize yields. The plants are currently thriving on a nutrient regimen that includes Silica Blast, Cal-Mag, and Pure Blend Pro Grow. To preempt any potential pest issues, I've initiated a neem oil and potassic soap treatment to control the whiteflies I've noticed in the grow area. This preventative measure will be limited to the vegetative stage, ensuring a healthy and pest-free transition into flowering.

Bubba Kush Update - 5/27/2025 - Day 44: Both Bubba Kush plants have recovered from previous setbacks and are now showing signs of improvement, although their growth rate is still below expectations. Plants #1 and #2 are gradually overcoming their stunted state, and with the current timeline, I anticipate they will regain their full growth potential. Next week, I plan to initiate Low-Stress Training (LST) to promote a uniform canopy and optimize spatial efficiency. The plants will continue to grow until mid-to-late June, at which point they will be transplanted into their permanent 7-gallon containers. Following transplant, I will continue LST techniques until the main stem reaches the pot's edge, after which I will top the plant to stimulate lateral branching and expansion, leveraging my experience that topping enhances the development of middle stems and branches. Additionally, next week I will implement a water-only dunking technique, submerging the fabric pots in a water-filled bucket to support root health, and begin spraying the plants with a neem oil and potassium soap mixture in the afternoon to provide preventative pest control.

KrayziemeT I think I have stunted mine. How did you turn yours around?
Day: 38
Vegetating

Bubba Kush Update - 5/21/25 - Day 38: The Bubba Kush have successfully recovered from a minor drought stress event caused by inconsistent watering, and are now exhibiting healthy growth and development. A preventative application of powdered diatomaceous earth was applied to mitigate potential pest pressure. The plants are currently receiving a balanced fertilizer regimen, including cal-mag and silica supplements, which is supporting their nutritional needs. While the plants are progressing well, continued monitoring and precise care will be crucial to ensure optimal growth and maximize yield potential throughout the remainder of the cultivation cycle.

Bubba Kush Grow Log - 5/12/25, Day 29: Encountered a growth plateau due to inconsistent watering, resulting in medium dry-down. To address this, I transplanted Seed 1 and 2 into 1-gallon fabric pots, providing improved root zone conditions. Currently, I'm focusing on a consistent nutrient and watering schedule to help the plants recover and get back on track.

Bubba Kush Grow Log - 5/1/25, Day 18: Plants are progressing well, and I initiated nutrient feeding this week. Response has been positive, with no issues to report. Currently, the plants are thriving, and I'm planning to transplant them into larger containers next week to provide ample room for root expansion and continued growth.

Bubba Kush Grow Log - 4/21/25, Day 8: Plants are developing well, currently being fed plain water supplemented with hydrogen peroxide (allowed to stabilize for 24-48 hours). Recently introduced a small dose of Cal-Mag to support healthy growth and prevent potential deficiencies. Scheduled to transition to a regular nutrient feeding schedule next week, providing a balanced diet to promote optimal growth and development.

Bubba Kush Germination Log - 4/17/25: Successfully germinated 2 seeds using an 18-hour soak in H2O with hydrogen peroxide, followed by placement in a humid environment with a soaked cotton swab. Seeds were initiated on 4/8/25, with taproot emergence observed on 4/10/25, prompting planting in soil. Emergence occurred on 4/13. Currently, seedlings are being fed plain tap water with a small addition of peroxide, allowed to stabilize in sunlight for 24-48 hours, with no supplemental nutrients provided.
