Purple Kush

Kannabia Seeds

Purple Kush Grow Log: Scored two free seeds from Kannabia Seeds with my recent order, so I'm throwing them into the grow to see what kind of results I can get. Given the strain's reputation, I'm hoping to harvest some beautiful purple buds. Let's see how it goes!

Day: 63

Purple Kush Update - Day 63 (06/14/2025) I've transplanted Plant #1 into a 7-gallon fabric pot and plan to upgrade Plant #2 to a similar container this week. This transition is necessary to accommodate the plants' expanding root systems and to provide adequate space for continued Low-Stress Training (LST). Notably, Plant #1 is exhibiting a more robust growth pattern compared to Plant #2, which will benefit from the upcoming transplant to support its root development. Both plants are responding well to LST, with the middle branches growing out effectively. During the transplant process, I incorporated Trichoderma and Bacillus into the root balls to promote a healthy soil microbiome. This week will be focused on completing the transplant and ongoing training. The plants are currently progressing as expected.

TerpeneGalore What’s your drying process, since you’re outdoor like me. Starting right after you complete the wash?

Day: 53

Purple Kush Update - Day 53 (6/04/2025) My Purple Kush plants are responding well to the initiation of Low-Stress Training (LST), but it's clear they'll soon require more space to reach their full potential. To support continued growth and training, I'll be transplanting them into larger containers next week, providing ample room for root development and further LST manipulation. Following transplant, my plan is to continue shaping the plants to promote an even, horizontal growth pattern, allowing them to reach the edges of their new pots before permitting some vertical growth. A strategic topping will then encourage the plants to bush out, creating a robust canopy and multiple bud sites. The current nutrient regimen of Silica Blast, Cal-Mag, and Pure Blend Pro Grow is supporting healthy growth and development. To prevent any potential issues with whiteflies, I've started applying a preventative treatment of neem oil with potassic soap, which will remain in place throughout the vegetative stage.

Day: 44

Purple Kush Update - 5/27/2025 - Day 44: Both Purple Kush plants have successfully recovered and are now exhibiting healthy growth patterns. Plant #1 is thriving, while Plant #2 is still overcoming a period of stunted growth. Given the current stage of development, I anticipate that Plant #2 will regain its momentum and catch up with Plant #1 in due time. Looking ahead, I plan to initiate Low-Stress Training (LST) next week to promote a uniform canopy and optimize spatial efficiency. The plants will continue to grow until mid-to-late June, at which point they will be transplanted into their permanent 7-gallon containers. Following transplant, I will continue LST techniques until the main stem reaches the pot's edge, after which I will top the plant to stimulate lateral branching and expansion. Based on past experience, topping has proven effective in enhancing the development of middle stems and branches. Additionally, next week I will implement a water-only dunking technique, submerging the fabric pots in a water-filled bucket to support root health, and begin spraying the plants with a neem oil and potassium soap mixture in the afternoon to provide preventative pest control.

Day: 38

Purple Kush Update - 5/21/25 - Day 38: Following a minor drought stress caused by inconsistent watering, both Purple Kush seedlings have demonstrated resilience and are now recovering well, exhibiting healthy growth and vigor. To prevent potential pest issues, a prophylactic application of powdered diatomaceous earth was administered. The plants are currently receiving a balanced nutrient regimen, including cal-mag and silica supplements, which appears to be supporting their development. Overall, the plants are on a positive trajectory, but ongoing monitoring and care will be essential to ensure continued health and optimal growth throughout the cultivation cycle.

Day: 29

Purple Kush Update - 5/12/25, Day 29: Encountered a slight setback due to inconsistent watering, which led to medium dry-out and temporary stunting. To rectify the issue, I transplanted both plants into 1-gallon fabric pots, providing a more optimal environment for root growth. Currently, I'm focusing on consistent watering and nutrient feeding to help the plants recover and get back on track.

Day: 18

Purple Kush Update - 5/1/25, Day 18: Plants are progressing well, and I initiated nutrient feeding this week. Everything's looking good so far. Next step is transplanting into larger pots, scheduled for next week. On a side note, I mixed up the photo documentation – one of the plants was mistakenly a Bubba Kush. No big deal, just a minor record-keeping error.

Day: 8

Purple Kush Update - 4/21/25, Day 8: Plants are looking healthy and developing well. Currently, I'm watering with solarized water (24-48 hours) and a small dose of hydrogen peroxide. Recently introduced a light dose of Cal-Mag to support growth. Next step will be transitioning to a regular nutrient feeding schedule, which I'll initiate next week.

Day: 4

Purple Kush Germination Log - 4/17/25 - Day 4: Initiated germination on 4/8 by soaking the seeds in water with hydrogen peroxide for 18 hours, followed by placement in a moist ziplock bag with a soaked cotton swab. Taproots emerged, and the seeds were planted in soil on 4/10. The seedlings broke through the medium on 4/13. Currently, I'm feeding them plain tap water that's been solarized for 24-48 hours with a dash of peroxide – no nutrients yet, just getting them established.
