Jimbo Norman Yeah I noticed the tips a week or two ago. She’s far enough along where I wasn’t really worried. I top dress every thirty days so she’s been getting nothing but water with a little molasses for a while now. Molasses is a convenient way to bring my ph down (9.4) since it also serves as a carbohydrate source for the micro orgs living in the soil. I also question whether she’s struggled more than the other because their roots are fighting for space in the same bucket 🤷‍♂️

Jimbo Norman This is a tester seed from Brothers Grimm called Ocifer. They don’t give very much product description on the site, likely because it’s a tester, so I don’t know much about it. Hopefully Sativa leaning 🤞

Hoo boy she did not like the 7 day vaca. Lasted until about day 5 but starved a bit the last 2. Gave her a dose of 4-8-4 and 1 qt of water 💦

inxile30 I did the same to mine. Thought that a gallon in the pot and a gallon in the wick feeder would hold them over for a full 7, but they only made is 5-6 days. Fortunately, 3 of 4 were only lightly droopy and they picked back up within 24 hours. The last girl was slower to recover, but she came around after a couple weeks. You live and learn.

💦 watering day. Girls looked a little thirsty and the dirt was dry. Gave them half a quart with 1/2 teaspoon (roughly) of molasses to instigate the rootwise critters from the previous watering (ph 7) and then half a quart 15 min later with clean water (no ph - 9). Also, started thinking slower growth may be attributed to PPFD in the 375 range so bumped up to low 400s and will continue to bring up more each day until plants indicate it’s too much.

⛺️ moved into the 2x4 today. Made sure all the levels were same as before. PPFD is a little higher in the 350ish range. Will monitor closely for burn but prob start to increase it daily.

OHIGHOGrows You should be just fine at 350 especially at day 41. I’m pushing my girls at 500 in the 4th week. I get it around 200-250 at soil level and around 650-750 where I want/expect them the stretch to and keep the temps 74-76 degrees when the light is on. Took me a while of adjusting to hit the sweet spot of intensity and temperature. With my EVO6 that’s 4’2” off the ground at setting 4/10 with the driver outside the tent. So I’m using a 500 watt light that covers my entire tent but only using about 200 watts of actual power to get my levels where they are comfortable and thriving the entire grow without having to worry about adjustments to often. Central air/heat stays at 70 in my house.

OHIGHOGrows Also why the LST is so important for me and why you see me keeping them so low, they stay in the area they need for as long as I need them to.

Jimbo Norman Thanks for the info on your setup OHIOGrows! I might start to push the lights to get the most mileage out of them - I’d like to find the sweet spot as well. it’s easy to see when I’ve gone too far since the plants react pretty quickly. For me, the importance of LST is more about planning for flower - keeping an even canopy with enough space between the colas. I see some folks with big tents and lots of space so they may not need to worry so much about pushing the plant around and treat it more like an outdoor grow. I’m working with a 2x2 and 2x4 so I’ve got to run a tight ship. It’s really only a pain in the ass when they’re super close to the dirt and I need to top dress 🤦‍♂️

Jimbo Norman Well…I’m going to find out lol. I planted too many because I thought some of these weren’t going to survive. Then they all survived and I don’t have enough space for 3 buckets with the other concurrent grows. I have to switch these to flower April 1 due to my summer schedule so I’m limiting their growth anyway. 🤞hopefully it all works out.
