Gold Leaf #1 vs Gold Leaf #2
Unintended Science Project
Purchased a five pack of Gold Leaf feminized as part of a promotion from ILGM.com. Never grown this before but wanted outdoor plants. Three Gold Leaf were planted. I’ve labeled them accordingly. Germinated 36 hours in water. Planted in Foxfire Happy Frog. Briefly under 300watt led before going outdoor. Watered regularly. Nutrients 64oz weekly of Vermisterra worm tea and Alaskan fish emulsion. Covered with barley mulch. Small patch of white clover planted along side for nitrogen (and friendship).

I think GL1 has super genes 😂

saviibaby I’d take a clone or two from Gold Leaf #1. Gotta keep strong genetics like that around!
Tallboy2023 I love the Jerry wolf sticker ✌🏼
dpat Thanks for noticing! Made that one special for this one! Reuben and Cherise ❤️ ☮️ 🍦

The move has been good for number 2

ig:@eaegifts Some training on 1 would help her catch up a bit 👍🏾
dpat I’m going to top it and LST once the wind and smoke from Canada calm down. Right now it’s a fog outside from the wild fires
ig:@eaegifts Oh yea I’ve seen news about that, not sure your proximity but be careful. She’s got tight nodes stack so probably be a nice bush after the topping and training

The transplant was definitely a good move. I’m starting to think GF1 may be a super plant 😂

Cooler, overcast 66 degrees with a light breeze. Fed both an NPK mix of FloraGro and FloraBloom from General Hydroponics. GL2 is gaining but GL1 is an absolute monster. Thinking this may be a good mother.

420countryboy1980 Must be nice to be able to plant outside where I’m from we’re still stuck in the past lol
dpat Vermont is a wonderful place to live. Our neighborhood has a growing competition. We have a smoke party 4th of July to try our winter/early spring indoor harvests.
420countryboy1980 It’s looking good smells nice

90 degrees direct sunlight for most of the day. Seems like GL2 handled the transplant. Time to see if it yields results

Gold Leaf 1 vs Gold Leaf 2. Gold Leaf #2 was moved out of the cloth planter and moved into the same type of planter as #1. Layered #2’s pot with light layer of organic compost, layer of clay pebbles for drainage. Next layer was sprinkled with Down To Earth Langbeinite NPK 0-0-22. Covered that with Fox Farm Ocean Floor, sprinkled DTE Bone Meal NPK 3-15-0 on that layer. Finally I put another layer of FF over that and sprinkled Espoma Blood Meal NPK 12-0-0 over that. After cutting the bag and carefully placing my plant into the soil, I filled in the gap using the existing soil from the original pot, packed it down and watered it (regular dechlorinated water PH 6.5)

The only thing I can see I did differently was a cloth pot vs plastic. Same genetics. Same lighting. Same soil. Same feeding schedule. Thoughts?

Jake-the-Bud Are they both outdoor plants just like they are pictured? How is the soil moisture between the two?
dpat Everything was the same except style of pot
dpat Here is a crazy thought I had today. I’m going to take an identical pot as the GL#3, layering it BG packing the bottom pebble drainage, Happy Frog soil, NPK 0-0-22 on the bottom, soil, NPK 3-15-0 bone meal, light cover of soil. Then cut the cloth planter, put mycorrhizae on the exposed roots, and put it in the new pot. Fill around with soil. I’m thinking out loud.
