WEDDING CAKE - INDOOR SCROG

Winter 2020

Two 8’x4’ tables — majority wedding cake. SEPTEMBER 30th These clones were off to a rough start, suffering a mite infestation and watering deficiency simultaneously. After correcting these problems, a PGE power shutoff caused them to begin flowering early. The combination resulted in poor root development, a long stretched vertical plant with deformed 3prong leaves. OCTOBER 20th In response, I selectively topped, defoliated, and introduced the plants to a 18hr photoperiod. NOVEMBER 4th The clones were moved to their final destination and introduced to a 24hr photoperiod.

Day: 122

Finishing week three tomorrow, FEB 21st. No poisonous chemicals have been used to suppress pests. Lost Coast Plant Therapy was used to suppress Aphids and Fungis gnats. Since flower, I have introduced nematodes to the growing medium and ladybugs to the canopy. There will be NO SPRAYING for the remainder of the crop cycle.

Defoliation in the middle of transition week.

Day: 90

Injured the plants by spraying an oil based pesticide while the lights were on at full strength immediately after extreme defoliation. The combination of having minimal foliage and burning the remainder stunted all signs of growth for 2days and caused wrinkling, downward curling, twisting, and taco folding of the remaining leafs. Plants should be in full momentum 1 week after date of spraying. New growth nodes are smaller, though the number of nodes is more abundant.

Extreme defoliation technique. These plants were node stunted to encourage branching. All branches were stripped to three nodes unless the branches were long enough to trellis train horizontally.

Day: 64

The flowering room was unfit to receive plants from the veg room on schedule. SCROG trellis placed at 20”. Clones of the top 3 performers were cut. All plants were topped and each node was defoliated to 3 nodes.

16” height; entering transition phase (16hrs) for one week beginning tomorrow.

Day: 44

Moved the plants to a new vegetation room. This room is equipped with atmospheric controls — humidity, temperature, and CO2 (1000-1300ppm). The plants branches were selectively topped to a uniform height and defoliated to allow light to penetrate the canopy. Only 3 nodes at the tip of each branch were left remaining unless the node was of sufficient height to compete for light and also in an in uncrowded canopy space.

Day: 35

Addressed cannabis aphids with Plant Therapy. Grow equipment has finally arrived. They will be placed in a room with increased light, CO2, humidity control, and temperature control.

Day: 28

Long watering periods (3-4) days due to unregulated low temperatures.

Day: 23

I have been bending branches to increase lateral reach and plucking the top of the canopy to encourage light penetration to the inner nodes. I have also reduced the surface area of healthy leaves or removed nodes where I would like to stunt growth to encourage even length branches.

Day: 18

Photo reference for comparing growth. These plants have been groomed to encourage short and bushy node spacing.

Day: 15

The plants are showing signs of successful reverting to a vegetative state.
