Day: 152

We are T minus 7 days until harvest. Today we defoliate. I defoliated both plants and flushed. It is the only time that I flush, and this is more so they get a really good clean watering prior to harvest. They are going back into the grow room for the last week. The pics show before and after. Cut everything down to just the bud mass and sugar leaves that have visible trichome development.

Day: 149

Starting my 10 day countdown. It is quite aggressive, but I believe that it pays off. T minus 10 days to harvest I split the stalks. I try to get around the bottom node or between it and the second if there is a good stretch betwixt the two nodes. Next step is defoliation at T minus 7 days.

Prezidential_Growz Why did you split the stalk? (New grower question)

dizzleslettuce

dizzleslettuce It is a very aggressive, high stress technique that triggers a healing response to the trauma. It increases trichome and resin production. It is something done only in the last 10 days prior to harvest. I know some guys that do it a 4 or 5.

My other plant is showing nanners! I will start readying them. They are still 2-3 weeks from being done. On plant was moved upstairs away from the other about 10 days ago because of nanners. I will let them finish.

Day: 125

As my luck would have it, one of my plants started throwing bananas. It was the smaller of the two plants. She is only like 4 and a half weeks into flowering. Environmentally things have been going well. I am stuck between moving the plant upstairs to put it in natural light and just let whatever grows grow or just harvesting and salvaging anything I can. This is a bag seed, so it could be genetic. It happens

war machine 420 If no light leaks in during lights off then it’s the genetics an that don’t always mean it’s bad. some strains tend to do it easier than others ..I’ve had some msnl seeds that did that but was fire!! Also pluck the nanners early anyou will get nothing seeds

dizzleslettuce

dizzleslettuce I am keeping o n top of it. I am moved it upstairs into natural light. It will also be a little warmer. I am just making sure to keep it away from my other plant to ensure that it doesn't catch a little pollen from a missed nanner.

The girls are coming along beautifully. The bud sites are getting frosty. Sticking to watering every other day. Feeding every other watering. Temperature averages 64-65f. Humidity average 40%. Still have a few weeks left.

Today marks Day 23 of 12/12. Last update the girls were a little shocked by the flowering nutrients. Gave them a couple waterings with clean water and then diluted the nutrients down to half strength. They took this very well. In the last few days, I have noticed that some of the deep color has started fading from the lower fab leaves on the larger plant. The additional nutrients will help keep them full, fat, and happy. The pictures also include a couple up close of the developing buds.

Made it to day 101. Pre-flowers are coming along. The first couple of pictures show the structure of the plant. I have included pictures of the pistils protruding out also. I am still watering with fresh water. My next idea is maybe to just spray the soil between watering and see if that is too much nutrients. I mean I have happy soul, I can't complain.

The girls are coming along nicely. Today, the pictures are all of developing pre-flowers. I have had some leaves clawing from the addition of the nutrients. They will be okay. I am watering with fresh water only.

The stretch is starting. I will use the mirror to gauge the growth. Here we go!!! I am excited. I have a number of colas that are nice and strong. I am getting ready to build in a frame to support the buds once they grow in.

Day: 90

Changed the light cycle over to 11.5/12.5. Switched the nutes over to Fox Farms Tiger Bloom and Big Bloom. I am mixing it as per the guidelines. Tiger Bloom is mixed @ 2 tsp per gallon and Big Bloom is mixed @ 4 tbsp per gallon. This concentration will be feed every other watering. I am also using a mixture of both for supplemental foliar feeding. This will be applied once early in the morning and then again before the lights shut off once a week. I also defoliated a little more. Not to the level of schwazzing or lollipopping, but enough that the light reaches the soil. I also moved a couple things around and moved an extra mirror I had into the room. I am using an LED light so I am not worried about burning it. Also, the ability to reflect heat has helped raise the average temperature in the room by 1-1.5 degrees. It is averaging about 67.5f. The winter will do good to keep my temp low for flowering. I also planted 3 clones I had into soil. 2 are staying down in the grow room, and one is a novel plant that I am putting under natural light in my dining room. I am not expecting anything from it, but it will be fun to try and propagate it.

Day: 85

I went through and defoliated the lower levels of my girls today. I do it right before I switch over to light to give them a little jump on leafing back out. I will also start adding an hour to their light schedule until I reach 12/12 to start them into flowering. Still give clean water and no nutes. This will flush the abundance of nitrogen out of the soil and help to get it absorbed prior to the change to flowering.

Day: 82

The bigger girl is coming along nicely. She healed quite quickly from her super cropping. Nodes are already beginning to form. I am going to leave the band aids on the smaller one. She is coming along. I included pictures of pre-flower stage sexing. The pistils will start to appear at the pre-flower sites. Males are fairly easy to see the small sacs that form. Upon discovery, they should immediately be segregated. Pistils are visible on both pictures. I have about 8 days left until I switch my lights over to 12/12? I am going to stop feeding them nutes for this week. I like to flush with clean water for a week going into the stage change. I don't increase the volume of water, just take the nutes out. I do not want a high level of nitrogen in the soil rolling into the flowering stage.

Day: 80

The pictures above show the canopy 2 days after super cropping. I usually only do this technique once a grow due to the high stress it puts on the plant; however, the benefits are worth it when done correctly. Also, the side shot shows a fairly consistent canopy, so light penetrates and reaches the plant where we want it to. Our light change is coming up soon. We will be switching nutes to cater to the needs of a floweri mg plant versus a developing plant.

Day: 78

Today was a maintenance day in preparation for the upcoming light change. About 10 days or so before I change the lights over, I utilize some HST techniques to help increase light exposure down into the plants and also to boost yields! I do mine a little backwards when it comes to procedure. I go through and tie the branches out first. This way I have all of the branches on their own and in their own space. I use super cropping techniques. This is where you loosen up the fibers in the branches to get them to grow how you would like. You can see the difference in some of the branches in the pictures with and without the super cropping. Super cropping is a high stress technique, and you should be cautious; however, you only hit home runs on the pitches that you swing at. I do this about 10 days before I change my lights With anything, practice makes perfect.

Day: 74

The canopy is developing nicely on the plants. The taller plant has more room betwixt the nodes, so I have been tying off the colas that rise above the canopy. I don't have a setup to be able to use SCRoG ( Screen of Green) techniques for training. Instead, I am tying off the limbs as they grow so the canopy stays consistent. With the smaller plant, the nodes bunched up on the head end of the main beam a bit, so they are growing closer together. I am tying off these as well, but they are a bit shorter and less developed than the other plant. There are 2 weeks between the topping of each plant, so I expect the next couple weeks to see an increase in bushiness of the smaller plant. I included pictures of the canopy from above and the undergrowth from the side to see the space available for light proliferation.

Day: 72

I went through and tied down the tallest branches on the large plant. This opens up the middle of the plant and also keeps the canopy at consistent height. I added a little sphagnum moss to the top of the soil for each plant. This will help to maintain acidity in the soil. It also adds to the biome.

Day: 71

I topped the smaller plant. This was done to stop the growth of the main beam and focus growth and nutrient delivery to the lower branches. With LST the lower branches have already turned up to become new colas. I also swapped them around in light rotation.

Day: 70

The girls are doing great. The two colas that are growing now for the tall plant are starting to strengthen. The bulbs are visible at the bottom of the new tops of the plant. I got two from one. My process will need some work to ensure that I top the plants successfully.

Day: 66

The girls are looking good today. The cooler is a bit deeper and the tips of the leaves are turning back up. The nutrients cured the hunger prob. I would like to increase the N for another month prior to switching the light period. On the board in the middle, I am attempting to propagate a clipping. We will see in a couple weeks.

Day: 64

The plant on the left was topped a couple of days ago to start focusing growth to the colas. LST was started at approx 3 week. Currently, 12 colas are in present development. The plant on the right is still intact. LST was started at 4 weeks of age due to smaller stature. Currently, she has 9 colas present. I started using a 24-8-16 vege food to boost Nitrogen in the soil in preparation for changing the light cycle in the next 4-6 weeks.

Day: 60

Both sisters have been in LST for the last month. I have about 14" of growth on one and 11" of growth on the other. The ancillary branches are reaching around the main beam and are heading to the light.

Day: 59

They girls are doing great. Approaching 60 days. Some of the leave tips are turned in on the 3rd and 4th node broad leaves.
