Her bud rot had declined triple fold and I had to hack her down …on her 90 day mark at that 🤷🏻‍♂️😞. I have one seed left and a grow light bud like I said that was my first attempt and now I’m skiddish. I fell for that one. Even our pet goat is bummed. I wouldn’t let him eat bc the mold on her 🐐

Tallboy2023

Tallboy2023 I just discovered rot in my giant outdoor plant. Blows. Was this indoor or outdoor?

ZaddyXL

ZaddyXL I’m so sorry for your loss

iPatchMe

iPatchMe Outdoors. I suppose I just have to go indoors with the environment I am offered out here. If you have any plants around the one you found sick I would remove that one from around the rest ASAP! It spreads waaayyy faster than I expected it to.

?!?!?!?!Same photos bc I’m wondering, DOES SHE HAVE BUD ROT?!

growinva

growinva What is your temp/ humidity? This could be rot. If you spread open a flower and it looks brown like that, trim off that flower. Lower the humidity, and get a fan on that to keep air flowing

iPatchMe

iPatchMe She is outside in South Carolina so it gets kinda humid out here. Maybe if I put her on the porch with a fan so she stays dry?

GrownInVA

GrownInVA Open one flower, look down to the stem/branch. If the flower looks brown, then trim and toss. I would not consider smoking it.

Flower

Gave her a proper grooming this morning and made sure those flowers got enough sun! I removed her from her location,Neem oiled and Captain Jacks BT’d the area before I returned her with her own Neem cocktail. I am hoping that she will be ready within the next couple weeks so that she is nice and cured for New Years!

iPatchMe This side branch is so heavy it needed two support rubber bands to hold it above the pot !

Joey weed seed

Joey weed seed Neem oil is MID to all fuck I like captain jacks dead bug Brew. That shi saved my current grow in 2 applications

iPatchMe

iPatchMe Absolutely. Out here in the sticks I have to stay vigilant. If I allow two days to pass without thoroughly inspecting every leaf then I have to wage a war. Thank goodness for her durability bc I have to spray her DOWN often

I feel as though her buds are not growing properly. I use Tiger Bloom occasionally and rain water so I’m not sure why. Any ideas? You can see from my previous posts that she has been like that for at least a couple weeks. The recent storms had me nervous so I used cord, that wire and a strong tarp to keep her safe and stable

piperboy007

piperboy007 They are looking alright. Its an auto so they dont get huge to begin with, just keep up using light bloom nute’s to finish it off 👍🏻

iPatchMe

iPatchMe Thanks for the advice! I just don’t want to lessen the yield due to myself lacking is all.

piperboy007

piperboy007 Your doing all good man, autos are just temperamental and finicky 👍🏻

Day: 69

INFO!??? She appears to be in decent shape. I had to remove a couple of the really bit up leaves today. Question…at what point do we consider the amount of aphids a legit concern/infestation? Almost every leaf has at least one or two of them. Also due to my disabilities I don’t have the most currency to buy anymore legit Captain Jacks spray on. I have a bar of Dove soap, Dawn, Neem oil and numerous spraying devices but don’t know the best way to get rid of them. I have used soap sprays and they are always there still the next day. Please?

piperboy007

piperboy007 Best bet is to use some neem oil/water mixture and spray that on. You can always do a bud wash when harvesting

ZaddyXL

ZaddyXL Yo man, I use peppermint essential oil and Dawn dish soap phed of course. Sometimes I add a little Epsom salt because fuck those thrips, and a little foliar magnesium doesn’t hurt. All house hold products. Also, I plan to wash my plants in a hydrogen peroxide solution to rinse all of that off and kill anything left

iPatchMe

iPatchMe Thanks for that input ! Unfortunately I had to pull her today. Bud Rot kicked her ass in the matter of a night and some hours

Tallboy2023

Tallboy2023 Looks good. Autos definitely have a different look than photos. You can tell an auto a mile away.

iPatchMe

iPatchMe I can’t wait until next season so that I can try my first go with a photo !

Tallboy2023

Tallboy2023 Autos are easy but the end result from a well grown photo is better.

?!?????!!!! I use diluted Neem oil mixed with a little soap and have even used Captain Jack spray sparsely. I have looked under every leaf and can not see anything. Any ideas? Also should I remove damaged leaves???!?!

zer0applied

zer0applied Dude that’s aphid or catapillar etc maybe anything like crickets etc. use BT spray next. Neem is trash. Use captain jack diulted into a gallon of water and use it to flush her. Then spray her with certain jack using the proper dose in the 32oz sprayer and soak her. I’m serious. It’s not a fast fix it’s a neurologic.

iPatchMe

iPatchMe Yea I have had issues with caterpillars in the past so I purchased the BT spray bottle. I had to relocate my plant bc it rains so often that the BT will be gone so fast.

This is my first go round so if you have any advice or suggestions I am very open. All I have to go off is Google (which is great). I just quit smoking until this plant is good & cured so if you see any signs that I should chop or what not let me know please

OTHER THAN BLOOM is there another way to help boost her bud production?

JakeTHEsnake

JakeTHEsnake It’s an auto flower…. Usually autos will yield one giant kola. If you’re looking for more yield, try a full term. 90 day lifecycles are hard to get producers.

Caliban

Caliban Autos are not great for yield. Good starter plants but if you Wally want good buds go feminized photo seeds.

Caliban

Caliban Really not Wally

Doing great YoYo!

Day: 40

It came well recommended so I figured I would let YoYo enjoy her flowering by outing the pests!

iPatchMe

iPatchMe I made sure to be careful applying so that I got 90 something percent only on the leaves

Day: 38

FLOWERING TIME! So now is the time I have to be even more vigilant about pests in her new spot. She had her first foliage spray and watering with Fox Farm Tiger Bloom today and I feel good about her. If those buds get as heavy as I hope they will I will have to help those little branches out supporting them.

SaviiBuds

SaviiBuds Since you are in flower, I would stop any foliar spray that isn’t absolutely necessary. You don’t want those nutes to hang around in your buds that are forming. Let her eat with her root system at this point because it should be more than strong enough. Just my opinion.

iPatchMe

iPatchMe Thanks for the advice! I guess I got a little trigger happy when I saw her and overdid it.

SaviiBuds

SaviiBuds No worries. It’s still super early in flower so it’s alright, just not something I would suggest continuing

Day: 37

I had to move her yesterday and she is in a new, more discreet place. I have to wait d see if the sun is going to hit her directly for a bit today bc she is used to being right in it most of the day. I neem oil/alcohol solution sprayed the area and her just in case!

I FOUND THEM ! After a thorough cleaning:inspection and a little trim of the damaged leaves I put her on a decent mix of neem oil and nutrients to help her bounce back. There ended up being three of them this one being the biggest.

fozzybear99 Found what?

iPatchMe

iPatchMe The critter that was biting my leaves. I went so far as to get predatory mites (that sachet).

fozzybear99 So what was it? Caterpillar or grasshopper?

I check back a couple of days later and she may have gotten whipped around by the storm yesterday but she look to hav gotten taller than I expected!! I know her top growth is normal but I love the way it looks

iPatchMe

iPatchMe Since those bottom leaves are bit to shit should I lollipop her before she flowers?

Day: 22

+1

The predAtory mites survived! I hadn’t used a magnifying glass or camera to look really detailed at YoYo in longer than I had intended. Good thing the mites made it bc something had been chomping I. Those loser leaves. She is a little over three weeks old as an auto I wonder how much longer until she goes into flowering??? **should I remove those damaged lower fan leaves so that she can focus her energy towards more productive things??**%%

Day: 21

Today is the 3 week mark! This morning I hung a predatory mite sachet from NaturesGoodGuys.com. This strain is especially susceptible to pests outdoors like she is so I wanted to be proactive with some Amblyseius cucumeris. I can’t recall ever seeing a ladybug out here in the wild so I didn’t want to risk a faulty introduction of invasive species/bugs…Idk I just want to be safe for my first go round. Ya know? Also yes I had to Jimmy rig a stand to hold it suspended (I didn’t order the correct release method). Half of a plastic cloths hanger and half of a wire one. I didn’t have any plugs so I used rubber and cloth thread to give the wire traction/hold. Zip ties to hold it together to ensure no chemicals are present to contaminate the plant or “good” mites.

iPatchMe

iPatchMe Sorry 21**^^

Day: 19

I gave YoYo some Fox Farm Grow Big for the first time this morning. A light mix for both soil and foliage! I guess we’ll see how she fares

Day: 18

She is doing great in her new home. It’s like she jumped 2-3 inches overnight! The storm didn’t faze her. Her first days of life above soil were stormy so she just took a bath and is all set

iPatchMe

iPatchMe Also this is day 16!! I jumped the gun on that one. Her first round of nut will be here tomorrow. A little Fox Farm seems to be working for everyone else and YoYo is a tough one

Day: 15

Her rinky dink screen made it through a pretty rough storm without sustaining any damage! A couple of weeks in and she is a tough one. Between the cinnamon, neem oil spray and the screen I did some research and am considering introducing ladybugs or predatory mites in there with them. Amnesia Haze is said to attract pests in full outdoors so I need to figure it out. Anyone have any preferences?

iPatchMe

iPatchMe Literally 5 minutes after posting this I was reading on the subject and those ladybugs probably wouldn’t take too kindly to my natural pesticides either ..NVM lol

ig:@eaegifts

ig:@eaegifts I’m thinking of using Diatomaceous Earth for gnats, that may be something you can look into. It’s organic 👍🏾

iPatchMe

iPatchMe Thanks ! Sorry I’m just now getting to this. I’ve found that with the cinnamon and the screen I don’t have to worry about flies. Mostly just potential micro pests out here.

Day: 13

!!??QUESTION!! When should I trim off those lower leaves that hardly get sunlight? Also why is that top leaf turning yellowish?

ig:@eaegifts

ig:@eaegifts Hands off lol, seriously though it’s no reason to trim at this stage, all foliage helps propel growth

iPatchMe

iPatchMe Thank you! I left her be and I feel good about it

Day: 10

I added a little fresh & grounded cinnamon to help with the buggy problem. I can’t spot any on any leaves. This is before 11 am so I’m hoping we enter day 11 tomorrow a little bigger ! Thanks for any advice you can share with me!!

Day: 9

I noticed that her true leaves have been being munched on by some bug out in the yard. HELP?? Other than neem oil what can I do??

SaviiBuds

SaviiBuds Cinnamon, clove, rosemary, and peppermint oil are all good options. You can rotate them or combos of them to keep them guessing. You will need to add some sort of surfactant to help them mix with the water. Yucca extract, Dr. Bronner’s soap, or even a few drops of original dawn dish soap are all fairly inexpensive options for this and work well.

iPatchMe

iPatchMe Thank you for that I am going to order some of those herbs now

Day: 8

Just moved her to the porch to avoid the upcoming storms. She has a lot of fight in her.

iPatchMe I prepped with a base of a Pot for Pots Super Soil topped with Roots Organic Soil. I figure this plus Tiger Bloom at Veg should be enough for auto
