She is simply not taking in water. Same weight she was at last watering. Still no red trichomes that I see. I got a new microscope which takes great pics. I really don’t want her to get ruined with all the dead leaves around her.

@eaegifts

@eaegifts She’s at the peak, everything’s cloudy. You can chop now or wait for some amber but that’s technically just trichomes degrading, I’ve found that couch lock is based more on the cultivar than the amber. Also if she’s not drinking that’s typically a sign to chop or a ph issue either way her trichs are at a great stage 👍🏾

GrNadeGrade 💣

GrNadeGrade 💣 Concur 👍🏾

ruckus12 Awesome. We were planning on giving her the chop today after work. I will ph the water that I gave her most recently. It’s been good in the past so it still should be. But I will check it just to make sure. Thank you growmies!

Tomorrow… day 90!!! I am still not seeing amber tricomes. I really want to chop it. But maybe a few more days? I am still watering it. Not as often but just watering water with no nutes. Thoughts?

ruckus12 Yes masta….. :)

GrNadeGrade 💣

GrNadeGrade 💣 You’re doing good. If it’s any consolation, you wouldn’t go wrong harvesting now. However, since you’re looking for couch lock, it’ll be up to you and your precise preference on the right time. Keep inspecting trichomes on upper and lower bud sites

Well. I am a little lost. It doesn’t seem to be taking much water. I haven’t watered it since Saturday, today being Friday. I did water it 1/4 gal and it started to seep, so that means to me that it is holding water. Is it ready to chop? I do not see any red in the tricomes. Is the nutes locking it from water? Is it going through its natural progression? Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

GrNadeGrade 💣

GrNadeGrade 💣 Recommend you magnify the trichomes (most people use a jeweler’s loupe). I believe there are apps that provide magnification as well. Inspect multiple bud sites. Depending on the type of high you’re looking for; mostly cloudy w/5-15% amber trichomes will give a cerebral high; 30% amber gives couch lock high. It’s not an exact science, so just just use your best judgment.

GrNadeGrade 💣

GrNadeGrade 💣 Drastic decrease in water consumption + Orange Pistils, which are the hairs + senescence, are just a few observations you can use to discern appropriate time for harvest. Good luck 🍀

ruckus12 Thanks grade. I do have a jeweler loupe. I do not see any amber tricomes yet. They only recently got cloudy. There seems to a bunch of white pistils left too. It feels that it’s still early to harvest, but I just don’t know where to go. I would prefer some amber tricomes for more couch lock.

Day: 69

Ten weeks tomorrow! It’s been a long while since the last update. Sticking with watering and mites when she is light which is typically three days. Her nutes are now 1 cal mag. 4micro 4macro and 7bloom. I won’t be chopping all of the fan leaves like I did again. Learned a lot from doing that. The buds seem to be decent sized and can’t wait for the tricomes to get cloudy. One question if someone can answer. I have these brown streaks on the stems. I tried researching and the best I can find is it’s most likely to be genetics. Can anyone confirm this for me? Thanks!!

Rastaman 2.0

Rastaman 2.0 It can be genetic or some other things but not to stress about.remember how you had her? Told you patience!! going good direction 💯👊🏾

ruckus12 Thanks Rasta for the input! Yeah I think you’re right it might take a little longer but she smells great and cannot wait for the end. I shall be patient!

She needed a hair cut and water. I meant to water her yesterday but spaced it. Oh well!! With how resilient she’s been I am not worried at all. She got a dose of water and nutes.

organic_grower

organic_grower Why are you chopping all your leafs off?

ruckus12 Defoliating it. From my understanding it lets the plant focus more on the buds and no wasting energy on leaf growth. If you look up lollipopping cannabis you will see what I am aiming for. Whether I am doing it right or not is another thing lol.

ruckus12 Because it is indoors and I am feeding it all of the nutrients it needs it does not need to rely on the fan leaves for what they produce.

Drinking like crazy. Gave her some water/nutes 1 cm,4micro,3grow,4bloom. Everyday she is bigger by a lot.

Tonyd133 Looking good. Grew the photo version a while back, great classic strain .

ruckus12 That’s awesome! I am pretty excited, it is crazy how fast she’s grown. Lots of great learning experiences. I looked at your own grows, wow you have made some beautiful ones. I hope mine is half as good as yours.

Tonyd133

Tonyd133 It’s become a real passion. Funny thing I give 90% of it away because I don’t use that much. I use it for sleep issues. I just love growing.

Just a check 24hr after the thinning. She seems to be doing fantastic. I cannot wait to see how she turns out in about 2 weeks. I think I will lay off of the defoiling for a couple more days.

Water day. Same nutes as before. More cutting of leaves. I hope I didn’t take too much off. They look a little thin. Hopefully all will be well. She’s been a trooper so far and I am sure she will be fine.

Rastaman 2.0

Rastaman 2.0 She will make it only thing will take bit longer to finish.i do this to my autoflower that I want huge buds and yields on.is lights straight to them now.

ruckus12 Ok phew! Thanks for the encouraging words. I am ok of it takes a little longer especially if it helps with the output.

Day: 40

Just did more defoliation. Took off quite a bit. I hope I didn’t take too much off. 😬 I raised the light. She’s now getting 600ppfd at the top. Gave her a watering, some nutes. Calmag1 micro4 grow3 bloom4. Ph is at 6.4. Given the cold I feel like she is incredibly resilient and will handle the chopping of the leaves like a champ. Temp is at 73 good to see that’s in a better spot. Humidity is at 45. Super excited! 21 days to go!

Just did a little more defoliation. Took off about 6 smaller fans and one bud that will never amount to much. It was down low beneath the canopy. I water and gave it nutes. Same dosage as before. I am happy to say that the temp is now at 70 with the lights on. So we are getting there! She does look that she grew quite a bit despite with the cold weather. Very encouraged with what I am seeing. I will chop more fan leaves in two or threee more days.

Been very cold the last few days. Temp in tent is about 65 and humidity is low at 40-45 with lights on. Just fed 1ml cal/mag 4ml micro 2ml grow and 3ml bloom. PPFD is at 600. Looks like it’s hanging there. Yesterday trimmed the lower fan leaves, 6 in total. 6.25ph

60tree Grower

60tree Grower Hey there hope this note finds you doing very well! Are you able to place a heater set to kick on above 73 in the room where the grow tent is located? Happy and successful 2024!

ruckus12 Thanks for the note, we are doing good and I hope you are as well! The tent is in my garage and I do have a oil radiator heater in the room. The room is insulated but I think I need to find a better warming solution. Maybe partitioning the room with a tarp would help. Just cold! In the 20s today.

60tree Grower

60tree Grower Indeed, our garage is not insulated and super freezing in there it’s probably around 16 degrees today plus it’s snowing here. That’s a great idea with adding the partitioning however traps are thin and won’t do much for keeping heat in or the cold air out unless putting another space heater inside the divider/partitioning to bring the temps up at least 3-5 degrees would be better then nothing, initially I always shoot for higher temps during lights out but I know you may not have this choice durning winter…example, if you have a warmer night temperature say 70/80°F (day/night) you will have a -DIF of 10° F, which will suppress stem elongation. Depending on the growth habit of your crop, you will need to find a balance between temperature and light intensity to achieve your desired plant height and shape. Anyhow keep me posted on your solution would love to help in anyway✌🏻
